Connecticut Reserve Churchill
81 out of 100. My Score: the CigarSolace Scale
The opening draws were the highlight of the experience, delivering a creamy texture, natural sweetness, soft cedar, and light toasted nuts—exactly the qualities I enjoy in a Connecticut.
The Experience
The opening draws were the highlight of the experience, delivering a creamy texture, natural sweetness, soft cedar, and light toasted nuts—exactly the qualities I enjoy in a Connecticut.
Before the end of the first third, however, a noticeable bitterness began to emerge. I slowed the pace and allowed the cigar to rest between draws, but the profile remained relatively linear, with drier cedar, bitter coffee, and toasted nuts becoming more prominent.
Construction performed well, and the opening clearly showed the blend’s potential. Ultimately, though, the sweetness and creaminess faded earlier than I personally prefer.
Final Thoughts
“This was not necessarily a poorly made cigar; its profile simply did not align with what I seek in a Connecticut. It was still a useful experience in continuing to understand my palate.”
