83 out of 100. My Score: the CigarSolace Scale
A well-constructed Connecticut with a distinctive personality, leaning toward the drier, spicier side of the style.
The Experience
A well-constructed Connecticut with a distinctive personality, leaning toward the drier, spicier side of the style.
The first third opened with hay, wood and a pleasant natural sweetness. As it developed, vegetal and mineral notes became more noticeable, joined by light earth and a surprisingly present pepper. A persistent bitter edge added intensity and remained part of the profile through the final third.
Construction was a highlight, with a steady burn, firm ash and well-calibrated draw.
For my palate, I would have enjoyed more creaminess and a rounder integration of the sweetness, but I can appreciate its more assertive interpretation of a Connecticut.
Final Thoughts
“A good choice for smokers who prefer their Connecticut profiles drier, woody and pepper-forward rather than creamy and sweet.”
