My first OpusX. And this one already had a story before I even lit it.

It was a gift from my friend Jorge, “El Cigarreño,” to celebrate the success of our first private cigar gathering. That alone made this smoke something I was genuinely looking forward to.

And yes… there’s something special about finally lighting your first OpusX.

From the opening draws, the refinement was obvious: silky smoke, beautiful construction and an almost flawless burn.

Dried fruit, wood and natural sweetness shaped the profile, with white pepper showing most clearly early on. A slight bitterness appeared at times, but never enough to disturb the balance.

Was it exactly what I imagined my first OpusX would be? Not completely. I expected a little more evolution, and the profile stayed fairly consistent throughout.

But that doesn’t take away from the experience.

It was refined, very well made and, because of the story behind it, a cigar I’ll remember.

My first OpusX didn’t leave me disappointed.
