Tasting Notes
The Experience
Dark, bold and beautifully balanced.
This San Andrés Maduro immediately showed a very different side of El Cigarreño. Dark chocolate, espresso and cacao led the profile, followed by clean dark earth, toasted coffee and wood.
What brought everything together was a subtle molasses-like sweetness, rounding out the darker notes and keeping the smoke from becoming overly bitter or dry.
The pepper was interesting — present, but finer than expected, almost closer to white pepper than the heavier black pepper I usually associate with darker profiles.
Construction matched the character: a comfortable box press, steady burn and firm ash against that beautifully dark wrapper.
A Maduro for those who enjoy cacao, espresso, dark earth and a touch of molasses sweetness.
Definitely a cigar I’d recommend exploring.
