Real people’s opinions, counted in the open.
The Community Score is only worth something if it is what people truly think. So every review goes through the same steps, the formula is public, and the rules are here for everyone.
How we verify every review
The “Verified review” badge means that review went through all of these steps:

Confirmed email
The first time, the person confirms their email with a link. The email is never published.

Anti-bot check
Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a program, is filling in the form.

One review per person
Each email can review a cigar only once. If they change their mind, they edit their review and the new one replaces the old one.

Topic check
An automated system checks that the review is about the cigar. If not, it waits for my review before it is published.

Alerts for odd patterns
If several reviews of one cigar come from the same connection, or from many new emails on the same day, I get an alert and look at it myself.
No system is perfect. That is why, besides verifying, we show how many reviews there are, how the ratings are spread and since when each person has been writing, so you can judge for yourself.
What I ask of reviewers
- Tell your real experience with the cigar, good or bad.
- If it was a gift or a sample from the brand, tick the box. It shows on your review.
- Answer the questions with what you experienced in that smoke, not with what you expected from the cigar.
- If you work for the brand or sell it, do not review it. You can leave a comment saying who you are.
- No links, advertising, insults or anyone’s personal details.
- If you upload photos, they must be yours and of the cigar: the band, the wrapper, the ash, the moment. Up to 3 per review, and I check every one before it is published.
What I promise
- I never remove a review for being negative.
- I never pay or give anything in exchange for reviews.
- My score and the Community Score are shown apart and never mixed.
- The formula is public and works the same for everyone.
- You can see, edit or delete your reviews any time from My reviews, with no password.
What gets hidden
I only hide what breaks these rules: advertising, spam, insults, messages unrelated to the topic, personal details, photos that are not yours or are not about the cigar, and reviews by people who work for the brand. If a review of yours is hidden and you think it is a mistake, write to me.
