Doble Capa (Barber Pole)

82 out of 100. My Score: the CigarSolace Scale

The idea behind this cigar immediately caught my attention. Combining Connecticut and San Andrés wrappers in a barber pole format, it aims to bridge creamy and darker flavor profiles within the same experience.

Tasting Notes

The Experience

The idea behind this cigar immediately caught my attention. Combining Connecticut and San Andrés wrappers in a barber pole format, it aims to bridge creamy and darker flavor profiles within the same experience.

From the first draws, I found natural sweetness, roasted coffee, earth, and soft wood, supported by subtle spice from the San Andrés wrapper. The strength remained mild-to-medium throughout.

What stood out most was the concept itself. While enjoyable at times, the flavors never fully separated or developed the clarity I was hoping for. The draw felt quite open, even with a punch cut, and the profile occasionally drifted toward bitterness rather than the creaminess I expected.

Final Thoughts

“An interesting cigar with a unique approach, though this particular sample felt more intriguing for its concept than its execution.”
