About Bori Cigars
Bori Cigars, or Bori Cigars by JA, is a Puerto Rican house based in Bayamón, established in 2024, with cigars made by hand and aged in Nicaragua. The brand puts it simply: a Puerto Rican house, Nicaraguan hands.
Its way of working is what makes it different. After trying different leaves, blends and styles, JA chose the ones he truly liked and made them his own, in a selection meant for different smokers, from soft and creamy profiles to more intense and complex ones. El Cigarreño is the line that came out of that search for a good cigar: well built, well aged, balanced and at an accessible price. It comes in Connecticut, with an Ecuadorian wrapper, and in Maduro Oscuro, with a San Andrés wrapper.
Those two faces are very different in my notes. The Connecticut goes toward toasted wood, cedar and dry earth rather than cream, at 84 points. The Maduro Oscuro is dark chocolate, cacao and espresso with a molasses-like sweetness; in Robusto Box Pressed it reached 89, and in Figurado, more concentrated and better integrated, 90.
