Davidoff Announces Year of the Sheep 2027, in Three Figurado Formats
Davidoff's next Chinese Zodiac cigar, the Year of the Sheep Limited Edition 2027, brings a new blend with an Ecuadorian wrapper and three figurados, the rarest sold only inside 12 humidors. It ships on November 19.
Davidoff has announced the Year of the Sheep Limited Edition 2027, the newest cigar in the Chinese Zodiac series it has released every year since 2013. The sheep, also called the goat, already had a Davidoff cigar in the series’ first cycle, but this one is a new blend.
The wrapper and binder are Ecuadorian, over fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is rolled at TABADOM, Davidoff’s factory in the Dominican Republic. Davidoff says it will ship on November 19.
It comes in three figurado formats, each at a different level of rarity:
- Piramides, for Davidoff’s appointed merchants: 17,500 boxes of 10 for the whole world.
- Gran Perfecto (61 x 6), only in Davidoff’s own flagship stores: 850 boxes of 24.
- Gran Torpedo (56 x 6), only inside the Masterpiece Humidor: 12 humidors, each holding 88 cigars, the number 88 being a lucky one in Chinese culture. The artwork is by illustrator Jane Liu and textile artist Clémentine Brandibas, and Davidoff says each humidor takes a full week to make.
As with recent editions, the Piramides and Gran Perfecto boxes include a numbered collector’s coin. Davidoff did not give prices to the press.
This is the second sheep, or goat, cigar we have covered this week. Plasencia is also releasing a cigar for the same sign: El Año de la Cabra, arriving in December.
