About Rocky Patel
Rocky Patel was a Hollywood attorney who discovered cigars among actors and sold his legal practice to make them. In 1995 he founded Indian Tabac Cigar Co. in California, with a name licensed from Indian Motorcycle. In 2006 the company became Rocky Patel Premium Cigars.
His first cigars used tobacco grown in El Paraíso, Honduras, on land leased from Néstor Plasencia. He later expanded into Nicaragua, growing tobacco in Estelí and building his own factory there. In 2008 the Decade, made for the company's tenth year, received 95 points from Cigar Aficionado.
In 2010 he opened his first Burn by Rocky Patel lounge in Naples, Florida, followed by others in Pittsburgh, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis and Atlanta. From 2020 to 2024 Rocky Patel was the official cigar of the Cigar Smoking World Championship.
