Lot 23 Connecticut Belicoso
Toast , Wood , Pepper , Cream
A well-made Connecticut with a clearly defined identity, but one that leaned much drier and more toasted than what I usually look for.

About Perdomo
Perdomo carries a Cuban lineage. Nick Perdomo Sr. began his apprenticeship in 1948 at Marin & Trujillo and later became an executive at the H. Upmann factory in Cuba. After the revolution he emigrated to the United States, and in 1976 the family settled in Miami.
In August 1992 his son, Nick Perdomo Jr., started rolling cigars in his garage in Miami under the name Nick's Cigar Co., while still working as an air traffic controller. In 1997, with his father's help, he opened a factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and that year sold a million cigars. In 1999 they built a new plant in the same city, today an 88,000-square-foot factory known as "El Monstro".
By 2010 the company employed more than 2,000 people. Perdomo is one of the big names of Estelí, with lines such as the Reserve 10th Anniversary, the 20th Anniversary and Lot 23.
I have four Perdomo notes. The 20th Anniversary Maduro and the 10th Anniversary Champagne both scored 88.

A cigar that impressed me more with its execution than its complexity.
