Tatuaje Returns to the TAA with a Nod to Its 2011 Original
After a break since 2023, Tatuaje is back with a cigar for TAA stores: a box-pressed 5 5/8 x 54 with a covered foot and a broadleaf wrapper, limited to 3,000 boxes and due in January.

Tatuaje is back on the list of TAA exclusives. At last week’s meeting of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA), the brand announced the Tatuaje TAA 2027, a limited cigar for the group’s member stores, planned for shelves in January.
The TAA says the cigar is a tribute to Tatuaje’s first TAA release, from 2011, which used the same size and the same blend. The details:
- Size: 5 5/8 x 54, box-pressed, with a covered foot
- Wrapper: Connecticut broadleaf
- Binder and filler: Nicaraguan
- Production: 3,000 boxes of 20, or 60,000 cigars
- Price: $16 per cigar, $320 per box
The return matters because of the history. Tatuaje made a cigar for the TAA every year from 2011 through 2023 and then took a break, so this is its first one since 2023.
The comparison with 2011 also says a lot about how the market has changed. That first release was 1,500 boxes at $11 a cigar. The new one doubles the production and costs $5 more per cigar.
As with every TAA exclusive, it will only be sold in the association’s member shops, a group of about 80 retailers.
