Rocky Patel Premium Cigars has announced the Rocky Patel Matrix, its exclusive cigar for the member stores of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA).

It comes in one size, a 6 x 50 toro. The wrapper is Connecticut broadleaf, the dark, thick leaf grown in the Connecticut River Valley, over a Nicaraguan binder and filler from the Jamastrán Valley in Honduras. The company describes it as medium-plus in strength, with notes of earth, nuts and chocolate.

The Matrix is made at the company’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and production is limited to 750 boxes. The suggested price is $14 per cigar, or $280 per box. No ship date has been announced.

The TAA is a group of about 80 retailers and some 40 manufacturers that meets once a year. Its 2026 meeting runs Oct. 25 to 29 at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Every year, around a dozen manufacturers make exclusive cigars for its member stores and give at least 50 cents per cigar to the association.

Casa Carrillo, Espinosa, J.C. Newman, Joya de Nicaragua, Kristoff, Gurkha and Villiger Cigars North America have also announced TAA releases for this year.
