Perdomo is adding three sizes to its Legacy line, and for now the only way to get them is inside a new sampler called the Perdomo Legacy Collection.

The new vitolas are:

  • Short Robusto, 4¼ x 54
  • Belicoso Fino, 5 x 54
  • Gran Corona, 6 x 48

There is one sampler for each of the three Legacy wrappers: Connecticut, Maduro and Nicaraguan. Every box holds the same 11 cigars, so only the blend changes. Besides one of each new size, it includes two Robustos, two Gran Belicosos, and one each of the Epicure, Father & Son, Gordo and Churchill. Each sampler has a suggested price of $150.

The Legacy is built around a hybrid tobacco that Perdomo created about ten years ago by crossing a Cameroon seed with a Cuban seed, grown on one of its farms in Estelí, Nicaragua. In the Nicaraguan version it is the wrapper, and in the other two blends it is the binder. Nicholas Perdomo III created the line for the 60th birthday of his father, Nicholas Perdomo Jr.

According to Perdomo III, these three sizes were considered for the original launch but left out, since the company usually debuts a line with five vitolas. The samplers are expected to ship in early November, ahead of the holidays.
