About Sobremesa

Sobremesa is the brand Steve Saka used to return to the cigar industry with his company, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. The name is a word we know well: that time after a meal when no one leaves the table yet and there is conversation, rest and a good smoke. The original Sobremesa was made at Joya de Nicaragua in Estelí, with an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, a Mexican Matacapan binder and Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania filler.

The Brûlée, like the dessert, has an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a Mexican binder and filler from Condega, Estelí and Pueblo Nuevo, Nicaragua. Its sweetness surprised so many smokers that some thought it had a sweet tip. Saka said it did not: what they tasted was the natural sweetness of the tobacco.

My note is the Brûlée, one of the best Connecticuts I have had recently, at 92 points.
