Tabacalera USA Reorganizes Its Leadership
The parent company of Altadis U.S.A., Casa de Montecristo, JR Cigar and Santa Clara moves three division chiefs into company-wide roles.
Tabacalera USA, the group behind Altadis U.S.A., the Casa de Montecristo lounges, retailer JR Cigar and Santa Clara, has given three of its senior leaders new roles that span the whole company.
Until now, each of these executives ran one division as its chief executive. Under the new structure:
- Brad Winstead, who led Casa de Montecristo, becomes chief commercial officer.
- Davide Moro, who led Altadis U.S.A., becomes chief marketing and brand experience officer.
- Nicolas Maslowski, who led JR Cigar, becomes chief direct-to-consumer officer.
Some ties to specific businesses remain. According to the company, Winstead will oversee commercial work and distribution for Altadis U.S.A. and Santa Clara, while Moro will use Casa de Montecristo as a place to develop new concepts. All three report to Charles Gibb, president and CEO of Tabacalera USA.
Gibb framed the change as part of running the group as a single, more connected company rather than separate divisions.
For smokers, the group matters because it owns the non-Cuban rights to well-known names such as Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta, and runs one of the largest cigar retailers in the United States. The move comes about a year after an earlier reshuffle of Winstead’s and Maslowski’s roles on the retail side.
