Perez-Carrillo Battleborn Returns with a New Blend
The second Battleborn, a limited edition that honors veterans and first responders, changes blend, size and box, and ships before Veterans Day.
Casa Carrillo is launching the second edition of Perez-Carrillo Battleborn, a limited release that honors veterans and raises money for veterans’ charities.
This year’s cigar is called Battleborn 2026 Heroes, and almost everything about it is new. It is a 6 x 52 toro with a Cameroon wrapper over tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Last year’s Warriors was a 6 x 56 toro gordo with a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. The box moves from camo green to mostly orange and still includes a custom dog tag. Because the cigars are thinner, each box now holds 21 instead of 20.
The first launch events are at Old Virginia Tobacco Co.: the Kingstowne store on Oct. 22 and the Woodbridge store on Oct. 23. Casa Carrillo says the cigars will ship nationwide before Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III said the cigar is meant to recognize people who serve, in the military, as police officers or firefighters, or as first responders. The company has not named the charities that will receive money.
Battleborn was inspired by Lionel H. McKoy, a U.S. Navy veteran of two decades who joined Casa Carrillo as shipping manager in 2017.
It is made at Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic and limited to 42,000 cigars. The suggested price is $21 per cigar, or $441 per box.
