About Sancho Panza

Sancho Panza carries the name of Don Quixote's faithful squire. It is a classic Cuban brand, believed to have been created in 1848 by the German businessman Emilio Ohmstedt, at the same time as El Rey del Mundo.

Outside Cuba, the brand has a new chapter: the Extra Chido, created by Matt Booth and Justin Andrews, debuted at the 2024 PCA trade show in Las Vegas. It is made at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and filler that combines several primings of Nicaraguan tobacco with Dominican piloto aged in tercios, bales wrapped in royal palm leaves.

My note is the Extra Chido, bold and full-bodied from the cold draw, which scored 85.

This cigar made its intentions clear from the cold draw—dark chocolate, earth, and leather pointed toward a bold, full-bodied experience.
