About Reformed Cigars

Reformed Cigars was born from faith before it was born from tobacco. Around 2016, Al Gomez, a Nicaraguan who had lived in the United States, and his family began a Bible study in their home in Estelí. In 2020, when many people stopped going to church in person, the team took that ministry house to house, and the idea of making premium cigars came out of their prayers: a way to be present in the cigar industry, generate income and support the work.

Its stated mission is to make high-quality cigars that support church planters. The profits go back to the community: the company helped found a local church, funds an English program for young people, and part of each box supports the education of tobacco workers' children. Every blend begins in Estelí and is rolled by hand.

The lines carry the names of reformers and preachers: Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, Charles Spurgeon, Redención and ECO. John Calvin and Redención have their own pages here.

Reformed Cigars has some of my highest scores of the year. The ECO Maduro Grand Toro and the C.H. Spurgeon Maduro Box Pressed both reached 93, and the Spurgeon Maduro, at well under twenty dollars, made me question what a premium cigar really needs to cost.

    C.H. Spurgeon Dark Blue Maduro

    Gran Toro 6 × 56 · Full

    Cocoa , Espresso , Nuts , Earth

This is what I want from a serious Maduro: dark, full-bodied and rich, but still balanced and clearly defined.
