About La Gloria Cubana

La Gloria Cubana was created in Havana in 1885 by the Sociedad Cabañas y Castro. In 1905 José F. Rocha bought it and made it at his factory on Miguel Street, and after his death, in 1954, the Cifuentes family of Partagás bought it along with Bolívar.

Outside Cuba, the brand belonged to Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo, who sold it to General Cigar in 1999. Today most of the non-Cuban La Gloria Cubana is made at General Cigar Dominicana, now part of the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. The Serie R Maduro has a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

My note is the Serie R Maduro, which exceeded my expectations and scored 87.
