About Falto
Falto is a brand with Puerto Rican roots. It belongs to Luis Falto's La Garrita Cigar Company, based in Puerto Rico, and its cigars have been made for about two decades at La Aurora in the Dominican Republic. In 2015 it celebrated 20 years in business.
Falto is known for working with uncommon tobaccos: Negrito Canca and the 20/20 hybrid grown by Leo Reyes in the Dominican Republic, Cameroon leaf and Brazilian tobacco, among others. Each size has its own blend.
The Mentor, 5 3/4 x 54, is named for Manuel Inoa, La Aurora's operations manager and a tobacco expert. My note is the Mentor Toro, clean, balanced and consistent from start to finish, at 89 points.
